Open Question: why doesn't my car stereo work?

i have a 1996 infiniti g20 and the stock car radio stopped working after a battery change. its hard to tell if the battery change is what caused the stereo to stop working because the car wasn't in use for almost a full year and the old battery had died so i bought a new one. when the instrument panel lights are on the buttons and dial on the radio illuminate and stuff though. i already checked all every fuse (in the car and under the hood) and they are fine nothing is blown so please don't tell me to check them. other than the radio everything on the car works perfect. how do i enter this 'code' if the radio doesn't even turn on also ive done alot of googling and i cant find anything on INFINITI and stereo codes so i don't think they have codes on theirs. im leaning more toward its a problem with the actual stereo  more

Open Question: Where to put savings?

I recently put about 25% of my savings in the stock market and am looking to invest the remainder in either a low risk/risk free instrument. I'm considering buying one year cd's which i would earn about 2.75% or series I bonds which currently earn about 5.3%. I have even considered looking into municipal or corporate bonds and understand that they are riskier. Was just wondering what anyone thought i should do. I would like to have a maturity of about a year. Thanks!  more

Open Question: Is it ok that Nintendo DS Light + R4 Ultra drain the battery in 4 hours?

Hey I have bought a Nintendo DS Lite, and a R4DS Ultra Clone. I bought the unit from a vendor who had a surplus stock, new, half the price, around 70 euros. It came bundled with Nintendogs. I bought a R4 Ultra Card, works perfectly, like a charm. However, after 4 hours of intense Advanced Wars and Sim City Creator, my LED battery became red. Is it normal under the above mentioned circumstances a 4h drain? I play with full options, music and sound, 3'rd brightness level.  more

Open Question: What would it cost to replace the exhaust on a '97 Ford Probe GTS?

About 6 months ago I bought a '97 Ford Probe GTS. It has an aftermarket exhaust, which is extremely loud. I didn't like it then, because of the noise, and recently, I occasionally set off car alarms just driving by. Dunno if it's gotten louder or what, but either way, it's too loud for my taste. What would a stock exhaust cost me to buy and have installed? Should I just take it to a local Ford dealership to be done? Thanks.  more

Open Question: Economics Help: A New Version of the Bailout?

A New Version of the Bailout: Take the following points and address from an Economic Perspective why each will or will not work. Open Question: Should I use the 55mm lenses or the 58mm on my Fujifilm s7000?

I've started an Imaging company and am buying equipment for my dSLR camera. So far I have the fuji adaptor, and a rubber hood that lets me use up to a 58mm. The fuji uses a 55mm stock. Would it be better to go bigger? I'm worried I may be taking some range out of the picture by using the 55mm with it extended so much. Im a newb, I know, but any help is appreciated. I guess it isn't single lens. More of a prosumer cam, but it does fine for what I'm doing. Most images will not be bigger than an 8x10. I have more equipment than this with higher MPs as well. I just want to make sure I wont shoot myself in the foot by getting 55mm instead of 58mm. It's screw on lenses but I think it will do fine for the moment. Thanks for the help! I'm just wanting to get a 3x telephoto, .5 wide angle, and some filters. It doesn't have to be perfect. Most of what my company does is on the computer, and most photos will go on the web, or be shrunk down a lot. There's only a few applications where a big print will be needed. The s7000 takes pretty good pictures. You can check some out at cdi-imaging.com/PhotographyImaging/Portfolio/WeddingPort.html I just need to know if a 58mm would be better, or if the 55 will work just fine without cutting the outside of the photo.  more

Open Question: is our country about to collapse?

ok most of you reading this have no idea whats happening.. ok our national debt is almost, if it isnt higher than it has ever been, and it's getting worse.. it's going to be tripled. and our economy is heading south it's tetering depression statistics. but thats not even the bad part.. our debt is being bought up by china. china was growing while we were declining, and now they are throwing their neck out there to save us (or so it seems) by buying up so much of our failing institutions. but just like stock market investors when the stock market turns around.. the chinese arent going to double or tripple their money which im sure is in billions or trillions.. they are going to get figures like 10 to 20 times what they invested.. this is going put all of our money and growth in their economy.. and they will have control of alot more than should be allowed. now if that happens america might still be great, but we arent going to have the money to back our power and we will collapse alot like the soviet union did. if anyone were to take serious military action against us.. (like China) who could easily surpass our military man power and by that time have finances to do whatever they wish to do (as far as weapons go).. and they arent a little country like japan.. we cant just drop bombs on them and expect a surrender.. we would.. in theory be screwed.. because we wont have the financial backing to just launch our army across the world like we do now. and who's to say japan isnt just dying to get back at us for ww2? i mean they are the most technologically advanced country in the world.. and think of north korea who if im not mistaken just booted the un and resumed their nuclear research.. and iran... if you havent noticed we pissed off alot of people.. alot of countries will be happy to hit us when we are down.. and everyone is just wandering to work and back and not thinking anything of it.. it might take a few years.. but it's coming.. and there isnt anything we can do except keep our fingers crossed. am i the only person worried about this? i just read today that obama is getting friendly with cuba and a few other nations.. where as before no one else cared.. u think this is soley for the purpose of doing it? or maybe hoping once our economy does collapse, cuba wont be dying to get back at us  more

Open Question: BlackBerry Curve 8330 vs HTC Touch Pro (Sprint)?

I've owned both of these phones, starting off with the Blackberry 8330, which has so far been the best phone I've ever owned. I currently got my Blackberry wet, and upgrade to a even higher up phone (supposely), which is the HTC Touch Pro, I've had this phone for nearly a week now and I must say that the battery life on that phone is horrible. I have to charge my phone twice a day usually. I text a lot, and I thought the HTC Touch Pro would be good for that, I was dead wrong, it has 256 memory bulit in, stock. which is excellent, but for some odd reason the operating system runs awkwardly, as in its a very slow processing system..It can definitely get irritating. As in the category of the BlackBerry Curve it was always fast and simple, the Touch Pro is confusing and flashy. I'm stuck though, I want to get the BlackBerry Curve 8330 again, but I just spent 432$ on my HTC Touch Pro, and I'm not sure if they will put it on my credit for the store, give me my money back or whatever, cause the BlackBerry is actually 299 I believe.. The Touch Pro has great qualities, such as the camera, graphics, and 5 row keyboard. But has problems with battery life and processing. The BlackBerry has an OK camera, great for texting, and simple stuff, easy to customize, etc. But doesn't have a lot of memory, so you usually have to buy a memory chip, but I have two so I think I'll be okay. I'm just looking for you guy's personal opinion about these phones excluding all the information I just layed out.  more

Open Question: Good paying jobs in cities?

I'm 14 and I was wondering what types of jobs there are in cities. I went to a city and I loved it and thought it would be fun to live there. I'd always be able to walk to work or ride a bike and that sounds so fun. Also they dressed like city people and it was just cool idk how to describe it. So I was wondering what types of jobs that are high paying so I could afford a bmw or porsche. Most of the cars I saw were bmw's or porsches. Also, be able to be able to buy nice clothes like lacoste and stuff. Thanks in advance. Also, I don't want to be a construction worker and I doubt I'd ever be a stock brocket because that seems really hard and most likely that wouldn't happen for me.
