FSA secures first jail term for insider dealing
Times Online writes about a solicitor who tipped off his father-in-law and profited from a takeover deal was jailed for eight months today in the Financial Services Authority’s (FSA) first criminal prosecution for insider dealing. On Monday, the SEC filed a civil lawsuit against Mark Cuban claiming that Cuban engaged in insider trading. Cuban, the vivacious owner of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, responded by basically saying the SEC was carrying out a witch hunt.
