Accidental Public Questions and Answers
Resolved Question: In times of conflict, can mourning be more than a reaction to sadness ?
Can mourning be used as an opportunity for renewal? Iran's revolution has now run through a full cycle. A gruesomely captivating video of a young woman - laid out on a Tehran street after apparently being shot, blood pouring from her mouth and then across her face - swept Twitter, Facebook and other websites this weekend. The woman rapidly became a symbol of Iran's escalating crisis, from a political confrontation to far more ominous physical clashes. Some sites refer to her as "Neda," Farsi for the voice or the call. Tributes that incorporate startlingly upclose footage of her dying have started to spring up on YouTube. Although it is not yet clear who shot "Neda" (a soldier? pro-government militant? an accidental misfiring?), her death may have changed everything. For the cycles of mourning in Shiite Islam actually provide a schedule for political combat - a way to generate or revive momentum. Shiite Muslims mourn their dead on the third, seventh and 40th days after a death, and these commemorations are a pivotal part of Iran's rich history. During the revolution, the pattern of confrontations between the shah's security forces and the revolutionaries often played out in 40-day cycles... Shiite mourning is not simply a time to react with sadness. Particularly in times of conflict, it is also an opportunity for renewal. The commemorations for "Neda" and the others killed this weekend are still to come. And the 40th day events are usually the largest and most important. "Neda" is already being hailed as a martyr, a second important concept in Shiism. With the reported deaths of 19 people Saturday, martyrdom also provides a potent force that could further deepen public anger at Iran's regime. http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/08599190604900 Edit: From the horse's mouth: Evolution, revolution...ultimately its change. moreResolved Question: LONG: dreaming about being an imprisoned princess character within a society, i.e. no bars.?
It starts on a pirate ship, and something resembling the 'turning upside down' of pirates of carribean 3 happens. I am with some of my mates, we get washed up on some island. And apparently get captured and herded through a jungle by 'aliens'. I notice something in the bushes twitching, watching us. Then a big silver eye module emerges from the bushes. It comes closer to inspect me, so I push it away thinking 'how rude!'...as I turn around it then wraps itself around me, like a grabbing vine. I then go to the next chapter, I become aware I am in a dungeon/underground chamber. I have the feeling I have been alone for a while now, just exisiting & I have no real concept of time or place. I notice I am dressed in white robes (a little medieval/aeon flux). Its like as though I've been allowed to be aware of my situation, and have been given an accidental chance to explore the underground corridors, perhaps to escape. As I do this...I keep getting lost in a maze of tunnels, and rooms...which are filled with crumby markets (feels a bit like Blade runner red light disctrict), everywhere I turn I find myself in an awkward slightly scary situation. I sometimes go back to where I came from, this time choosing the other tunnel instead. Eventually, my dream moves to a 'flashback', where I am at school reunion buffet. I see this guy I used to fancy, but never had the nerve to properly persure there...he doesn't pay me any attention. figures. Anyway, [flashback ends]...I am then bk in the chamber I started in, this time I have an assistant/maid & she tells me its 'time'...apparently to do my 'duty'. Seems, I have been a sort of captor since the eye got me, and 'he' watches me and the island. We are a repressed society (like aeon flux). My duty is to simply make a public appearnce, I am not allowed to speak to anyone. Later on, I also find out I have some sort of power..if I speak (I saw the guy frm the reunion, & I tried uttering his name under my breath), it makes men go insane...with a sort of zombie confusion and lust, with them likely to kill me in the process. What gave my power that double-edge was the fact that I couldn't ask for help, all I had was eye contact...but no one would pay attention to me to see I needed help...they saw me as 'part of the furniture' & 'what made their world tick'...& yet if I even tried to whisper a word...the consequences were bad! what do think??? - Things have been a lil stressful i guess, having spent ages jobhunting, perhaps feeling like Im not appreciated enough (particularly bf) or like anyone is actually bothered to care about my affairs. funnily enough, just before this dream I had a major urge to re-contact lods of old college mates that I used to have such a gd time with. I've managed to pull together my inspiration for crafts again. But yea, I know I'll feel loads better about life when I get that job! I tried doing a course, that was affordable..only to be told at last minute it was fully booked, & there aren't any other courses like avail till Sept! moreResolved Question: Accidental laptop loss?
I am wondering if there is a laptop insurance deal I can get which will protect me if I lose my laptop in a public place like on a train or in a park or something, I have found ones that protect for theft and damage but I would like one that protects for accidental loss. Anybody know of companies which offer this in the UK. Thanks in advance moreResolved Question: Accidental laptop loss?

I'm talking wind here, folks: Intestinal gas; poots; windipops; whatever the blustery vernacular is for your own particular neck of the woods. Why is it a cause for so much social discomfort amongst people when we know we all do it? PS: Brazen farty-pants who suffer no embarrassment at passing the odd accidental public parp are very welcome to explain here how they manage to walk away from such a mishap without feeling the need to throw themselves off a bridge. I thank you. PPS: Even Spell Checker is embarrassed by the term "farty-pants" and suggests I use "footprints" instead! EDIT: Stevie N - piss off. Is that to the point enough for you? moreVoting Question: After yet another mass shooting in the USA last week?
as well as a mother shooting her son dead and then committing suicide. What are the excuses that the Americans will come up with which will disagree with my statement;- 'Gun control and the banning of ownership of guns by the general public will sustantially reduce the number of gun related deaths, accidental and non-accidental, in the United States of America' moreResolved Question: Conspiracy? Dick Cheney wanted to start war with Iran, just weeks, b4 he left office what do you think?
Just heard this. That episode where the U.S. army flew nuclear weapons accross the country was not actually a mistake. It was personally ordered by cheney and that the pilots went public about the weapons being in the plane when they realised what was going on. Cheney was going to use the weapons as "WMD's" found in Iran and then use that as a premise to start a war before him and Bush left office. The guy who told me reckons that out of the 3 pilots 1, a black guy waskilled in an "accidental" car crash days after the story broke so that the others would tow the line. Just 16 days to go and counting I think were home and dry This was picked up on the BBC world service. They are famous for publishing blunders. If you listen between 5-6am GMT the news will report a breaking headline. But by the time the big wig editors in london arrive at the offive after 7am the stroy has been pulled. Cross buddy if i came up with a scenario of america invading Iraq pre 9/11 no-one would have believed me. I mean one theory puts forward that Bush wanted to really invade Iran but jsut misspelled the word in the war draught. moreResolved Question: Accidental animal hit (road kill)?
If a deer or a swan ran out in front of me on a rural road in Aberdeenshire, who pays for the vehicle damage? They are after all either a protected species or crown property. Please, no police officer replies. General public and legal profession only. Thanks. moreResolved Question: Do you think we should treat any illness our self just to be on the safe side.?

Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of Health Human Services Now think about this Guns: (A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000. (Yes, that's 80 million..) (B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is 1,5000 (C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .000188 Statistics courtesy of the FBI So, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners. Remember, "Guns don't kill people, doctors do." FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR. Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!!! Out of concern for the public at large, We have withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek Medical attention moreResolved Question: Do you think this could be the reason why I am afraid of doctors is my psych telling me something?

I think the Poll Tax Riots had a lot to do with it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poll_tax_riots "Mounted riot police were brought up, and from about 3:30 p.m. police tried to clear people out of Whitehall, despite both retreat and advance being blocked by further lines of police. Fighting and scuffles broke out and the Whitehall section of the march eventually fought its way out into Trafalgar Square." "It seems that the mounted riot police (those who had earlier attempted to clear Whitehall) charged out of a side street straight into the packed crowds in Trafalgar Square. Whether intentional or not, this was interpreted by many in the crowd as an unwarranted provocation, further fueling anger among crowds in the Square." Maybe it was earlier... "Not until the 1964 Police Act and the first moves towards centralisation did this “Dixon of Dock Green” tradition start to crack. In England and Wales, 123 forces came down to 47. The Home Office encouraged the police to get off the beat and into cars. Street crime soared and police aloofness, corruption and unpopularity with it. In the words of one historian, “plods became pigs”. Scary reading...lets all support a Police State...remember, "Nothing to hide nothing to fear" http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/crime/article2183105.ece moreResolved Question: Are the authorities testing public opinion on the McCanns?
before and if any charges are made. The portuguese police are probably sympathetic and think any accidental loss of a baby is enough punishment. It seems the authorities have been judge and jury and found them not guilty of murder or manslaughter. The McCanns are serving their sentence outside jail with hate campaigns etc: and without Maddie. No money, fame or publicity can replace your child. What kind of life is that? Can anyone come up with a better theory moreResolved Question: Now that the McCanns have been named formal suspects & have run away from Portugal will Social Services?
in the UK pay them a visit, or will they continue to let them get away with neglect and possibly accidental murder? Also do they really expect the British public to welcome them with open arms? Apparently they are relieved to be returning to the UK... well they very well may wish they'd stayed in Portugal! Nina M - Harold Shipman denied he was guilty until his dying day. If he can be deluded after killing hundreds of people, then the McScams denying they killed one person is no surprise! moreResolved Question: What member of public last saw Maddie outside?
Apart from McCanns and friends, what member of public saw Maddie outside the appartment last and at what time exactly. The theory of an accidental death sounds very possible but not with overdose, you dont get blood with overdose. Maybe a harsh backhander send her head against a wall or something, hence blood moreResolved Question: joke::Physicians?
